Can you still remember the first time you heard or read about the Megasus Horserunners? "What an exciting idea!", “That would actually be worth a try!!” or maybe you thought, “Who picked out those colors?!”. The blue-orange sport shoes for horses polarized, they turned the equine world upside down, and were thought-provoking - and there we can probably all agree.

Today, with heavy hearts, we must tell you that we have to give up fighting for our horses. We had to file for insolvency.

What happened? As a small team of 13 horse lovers and hardcore optimists, we have fought for our dream of the end of the Iron Age for over 2 years. The journey hasn’t been easy and has been demanding for us all. Our team invested so much - time, energy, passion, and money. We gave our all to realize our dream and better the lives of our horses. Unfortunately, despite months of investor talks, people are still unwilling to invest in the welfare of the animals.

We are incredibly grateful for all your enthusiastic, poignant, and at times, critical feedback. Even in these turbulent times, it gave us power, new input, and motivation. Unfortunately, we have reached a point where we can no longer continue on, even though we were close to gaining momentum.

Everything is ready: The entire production- and logistics chain is all set to go. Megasus Horserunners are a completely new and unique product, that has never been seen before. In the last few months, we have brooded over the fine-tuning of the products and finding solutions to eliminate all the "teething problems”. Sadly, we do not have the financial means to implement it - and so the entire chain is at a standstill. From today on, the insolvency proceedings will be set in motion and our work must come to an end.It is so even though we were on the right path, as your lovely feedback shows!

The young white mare Kea was brought to the animal shelter, Aktiven Tierschutz, because she suffered from massive hoof problems. The costly attempts to see her run again brought immense financial burden on her owner. It could not go on. The decision to give up a beloved animal must be unspeakably difficult. Kea became an animal welfare case because of her hoof problems, which were in large caused by her iron horseshoes. The hooves looked like the hooves of a cadaver and no horse would have been able to walk with them - the possibility euthanasia was at the door. However, things turned out differently. Our R&D team has been looking after Kea, and she now wears the Megasus Horserunners. She is finally on her way to recovery! A new way of life for that intelligent and joyful little horse.

We have accompanied horses that have switched from horseshoes to Megasus - comfortably and pain-free! Some even go barehoof today, which was unthinkable a few months ago. There is probably no bigger reward! Our horses deserve to be able to walk on healthy hooves. We are proud, that with our invention, we could raise awareness of healthy hoof protection and contribute. In doing so, we thank you all for your incredible support and take our hats off to all the pioneers that have ushered in a new era for their darlings with the Megasus Horserunners. We would also like to thank our passionate testers and their horses. We have all grown so close and you have supported us through the thick and thin. The Megasus Horserunners will stay in our hearts, and we would like to sincerely thank you for fighting side by side for the end of the Iron Age.

The market has changed so much in the last two years - that’s magnificent! Only when we pull together, can we replace rigid horseshoes after 2000 years. The bottom line is the welfare of our horses, and the health of their hooves should never be a matter of luck.

What remains certain is that with the Megasus Horserunners, we have brought a dream to life and created a functioning product that can revolutionize the equine world. We have brought happiness to many horses and their 2-legged companions from around the world with the Megasus Horserunners. One thing is clear to us: for the welfare of horses, it is always worth it to fight, and the Megasus Horserunners have opened up a door to new possibilities. We hope we could give the horse world enough impetus, even if our journey has come to an end.
